In January of 2019, I drove the entire length of the US border with Mexico with my dog Stella during the federal government shutdown, to investigate whether or not there was a crisis. The project was meant to be simulcast on Instagram and not last more than a few weeks. Five years later, the project has evolved into an episodic series that delves into the significant issues that impact what life is like at the border, from the perspective of the people who live and work there.
